Prosperity
By Rev. Susan Shahani
Thinking of prosperity or abundance, most of us turn to our bank accounts. When reflecting spiritually, we refer to “invisible substance with infinite capacity of expansion when held in mind.” Our teaching tells us that in order to demonstrate infinite prosperity we must begin recognizing abundance as an idea that is real, with the power to limitlessly expand. How do we do this?
I have experienced moments of fear, thoughts of lack, and unworthiness. When leaving my corporate job several years ago in pursuit of career in chaplaincy, I left behind a six-figure salary. With a mortgage and college tuition to pay, I simply could not see a way to make it financially workable. So I put the Law of Prosperity into action by turning away from outer appearances and opening my consciousness to something greater. Within a short time, my home became a space for foreign exchange students. My financial obligations were met, and soon a job in hospice work opened.
When directly experiencing the evidence of this prosperity principle in action, gratitude ignites a higher vibration and an invisible world of substance takes visible form in my life. Resonance is activated, and I gratefully participate in the law of circulation, live in the flow, and tithe in coherence with this great Law of Life!
The Practice:
Today, take the first step by noticing abundance surrounding you everywhere: blades of grass, leaves on a tree, stars in the sky. Next begin to cultivate a real feeling of gratitude and appreciation. Bring this awareness into your heart-space, holding it there for 30 seconds. Finally, throughout the day, circulate gratitude by giving kindness to others, further activating this great Law. In this expanded awareness of abundance, life becomes more meaningful, purpose-driven, and prosperous, no matter how many zeros come after a single digit in the ledger of life.
