Integrating the 31 Days into Your Every Day Life
Michael Bernard Beckwith
I congratulate you for embarking on the spiritual warrior’s journey presented to you over the past 31 days. As I say in my book, Spiritual Liberation, there are two kinds of warriors. One protects exterior boundaries, like a boundary of a nation. The other breaks through limiting boundaries or perceptions that keep us separated and small.
You are in the number of spiritual warriors that are breaking free from limitation and becoming available to your greater yet to be.
Along with the inspiration and transformation you have experienced along your journey, it is also perfectly natural to have encountered a few challenging twists, turns and detours on the path—all of which are components of a mature, evolutionary practice. These challenges reveal self-sabotaging patterns, pointing you in the direction of what must be released in order to evolve into your next dimension of being. Face them with trust, for you are fully equipped to skillfully work with and transform them. You may find it helpful to practice this wise Buddhist affirmation, “May I meet this moment fully. May I meet it as a friend.”
The next step I encourage you to take is keeping alive your intention to spiritually evolve by continuing to integrate the principles and practices described in each of the 31 Days. Place your attention on those that apply to your life, as it is in the “now” moment of any given day, keeping in mind that when attention and intention conjoin, a powerful vortex of awareness is generated. Such mindful awareness will allow you to make moment-by-moment choices that support your intention to grow, evolve and transform.
Begin this week by consciously noticing the first thoughts that enter your mind when you wake up in the morning. Are you asking yourself, “What is seeking to emerge in my life, and what steps must I take to bring it to fruition?” Keep in mind that the answers don’t always present themselves while sitting on the meditation cushion or during affirmative prayer. Many times they come while engaged in everyday activities like doing the laundry, sitting in traffic, during yoga practice, or while walking into your favorite health food store! It’s often helpful to keep a notepad in your car, purse or backpack so that when intuitive guidance comes through, you’re prepared to record what Spirit presents to you through its laws that govern both the universe and your individual life.
Remember to give your unconditional, grateful “Yes” to Spirit’s generosity in all the forms in appears in your daily life.
Lastly, be aware that you have forged new mental patterns during these past 31 days, and that you want to continue to practice what you have begun as a new way of living. As you grow and shift in consciousness you may want to go back and do the program again as you will a notice layers in the teachings that you didn’t notice before. You are forever unfolding!
Love, peace and richest blessings to you!
